March Madness

March has just begun, yet it already feels like the month is moving quickly. The semester has been a whirlwind filled with school, football and work. Still, there is a reward on the horizon, Spring break is only five days away. The past two weeks have been packed with exams and projects, but the thought of relaxing by the water has made the workload more manageable.

My friends and I debated several destinations for Spring break. We considered renting a cabin in Tennessee, traveling to the beach in Florida or even going on a cruise. With multiple ideas and a large group attending, narrowing down a location proved difficult. Ultimately, we booked an Airbnb on a lake in South Carolina. One of our friends had visited the area before and recommended it as an ideal setting. The house is also about 10 minutes from Clemson University, which adds to the appeal.

March also brings one of the most anticipated events in sports, the NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Tournament, commonly known as March Madness. Even those who do not regularly follow college basketball often participate by filling out brackets or cheering for an underdog team. The tournament's single elimination format creates urgency and unpredictability, often producing memorable Cinderella stories. With 68 teams competing for a national championship, the excitement builds quickly over a short span of games.

Although the recent weeks have been demanding, having something to look forward to makes the effort worthwhile. The idea of delayed gratification, working hard now to enjoy rewards later, has helped me stay focused. As March unfolds, it brings both opportunity and excitement. I hope everyone enjoys the month and embraces the energy that comes with it.

  1. Hello Keegan! I completely agree that time has flown by. It's hard to believe that once we come back from spring break, we only have a little over a month and a half left! I have also been looking forward to spring break! I made myself a countdown 2 weeks ago and it has helped keep my motivation up. March Madness is such a fun time to be a sports lover! I am someone who doesn't follow the basketball season until March Madness hits. If you're doing a bracket, good luck!

  2. Hey Keegan! I am also super excited for Spring Break. This whole semester has flown by, like you said, but this week feels like the never-ending week. Relaxing by the water does also sounds very nice right now, especially with all this muggy weather we have been having too, but it's definitely better than the snow!
