Busy Week With Meaningful Moments

Between football, school and work, my schedule was packed from start to finish. Spring practices are in full swing, classes are approaching the end of the semester and work responsibilities continue to add up and take up time. Managing all these commitments has required strong time management and focus throughout each day. While the pace has been demanding, the week also included a few moments that made the effort feel worthwhile.

One of those moments came Sunday night when I had the chance to see my mom. With everything going on, it is not always easy to find time to get away, so being able to spend a few hours together meant a lot. We went out to eat at Thirsty's Pizza, a local spot in Beaverdam. It was short, but it gave me an opportunity to relax, catch up and step away from a busy week.

Tuesday brought another highlight with Honors Day on campus. It was a rewarding experience to see that the work put in throughout the year does not go unnoticed. As part of the Dicke College of Business, I was inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma alongside several classmates. In addition, I was inducted into Chi Alpha Sigma for athletics. This honor requires student-athletes to maintain at least a 3.5 GPA, achieve junior academic standing and compete at the varsity level. Being recognized in both academic and athletic areas made the busy week feel more meaningful.

Another opportunity this week is participating in my first Polar Pitch on campus. The event allows students to present business ideas in front of judges and receive prizes. Preparing for the pitch has been tough, but also very exciting. It is a chance to apply what I have learned in class in a real-world setting and develop presentation skills.

Despite everything going on, I have also enjoyed the small traditions that have started to develop. Over the past few weeks, my friends and I have made it a habit to go to the Tavern for breakfast every Wednesday morning. It is a simple routine, but it gives us a chance to slow down, spend time together and reset before the day begins.

All in all, this week was a reminder that even during the busiest times, there are opportunities to step back and appreciate the moments that matter. Whether it is time with family, recognition for hard work or small traditions with friends, those experiences help balance the challenges of a packed schedule.
