Easter Weekend

This past weekend, we had the opportunity to return home for a three-day break and spend time with family. It was a much-needed break. With end-of-semester projects approaching and spring football beginning this week, my schedule has become increasingly busy. Taking time to be with family provided a valuable reset before the demands of the coming weeks.

My Easter weekend began Friday morning when I returned home and took advantage of the warm weather. I met up with friends from high school, and we spent the day golfing at a local course. It was a great opportunity to reconnect with people I had not seen in months. While my golf game did not match the quality of time spent together, the experience was still enjoyable.

Saturday was more relaxed, allowing me to unwind and enjoy being back home. That evening, my family attended a 6:30 p.m. service at our hometown church, anticipating a busy Sunday. Afterward, we returned home for dinner and watched the NCAA Final Four games. I was rooting for the UConn Huskies and the Michigan Wolverines, as both were in my bracket. Their wins secured my victory in our family's bracket competition, making the night even more enjoyable.

Sunday was a full but rewarding day. My family traveled to Indiana to celebrate Easter with my mom's side of the family. We spent the day playing board games, pool, eating and watching movies together. I especially valued the time with my cousins, whom I do not see often because of the distance and limited holiday visits.

Although this past weekend was a great opportunity to celebrate, I am also looking forward to one more Easter gathering next Sunday, April 12th, with my dad's side of the family. They are all from around the area, which makes it easier to get together more often. It will be another chance to spend quality time with family, hunt easter eggs, and enjoy a home-cooked meal together. Having multiple opportunities to celebrate Easter this year has been very special to me.

Overall, the weekend served as an important reminder of the value of stepping away from a busy routine to spend time with family and friends. With a demanding stretch ahead, the opportunity to recharge and reconnect provided the motivation needed to finish the semester strong.
